Join us for this 2 part adventure in the Seminole forest, just 30 minutes north of Orlando.
Get ready for kayaking and mountain biking in one of the areas most beautiful forests. This is “real Florida,” and something you will definitely want to experience while staying in our great state. Did you know Florida is one of the most bio-diverse eco-systems in the world? Yep! On this tour you will get to see the giant gators, and river life of the Econolockhatchee river, and then mountain bike your way through some fun single tracks in the ancient Little Big Econ Forest.
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel (I-Drive and Lake Buena Vista only) between 8:30-9am. Self-drive guest must arrive to Seminole State Forest by 9am. Then we head to the ancient Seminole State Forest, also called “Little-Big Econ Forest.”
We start our day kayaking down the Econolockhatchee River, once home to Florida’s Native American Seminole tribe. Use your imagination as you begin to paddle your kayak down this famous blackwater river. You will be quickly be transported back in time to remote unspoiled Florida. Look on the river bank for mounds – they could be “Indian mounds.” These were made by Native Americans as a type of storage area along the river, so they would have a rest stop while they navigated these waters on the way to the St. John’s River. As you paddle, be on the lookout for alligators, bald eagles, blue herons and deer.
We stop for a picnic lunch (included) along the river before finishing our kayaking early in the afternoon. After a short break, it’s time to peddle into the outback of the Little Big Econ Forest. Explore some of Florida’s best single tracks, as your ride through the forest, over bridges, through creeks. This is a fun 2-hour ride that finishes out our day.
